Getting a New Electricity Connection
A new electricity connection is provided by your area’s Distribution Company (DISCO) — such as LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, QESCO, HESCO or SEPCO — or by K-Electric in Karachi. Applications are now largely digital.
Where to Apply

Good to Know
- First identify your DISCO by your address (NEPRA provides service-area maps).
- A demand notice (cost estimate) is issued after the survey; pay it before installation.

What this means for you
A new electricity connection is now applied for online through the Power Division’s central ENC portal, which covers all government DISCOs (LESCO, MEPCO, IESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO) as well as K-Electric via its own system. You apply, upload documents and track the application; the DISCO then does a site survey and issues a demand notice before installing the meter.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Under-declaring your load — it affects charges and causes problems later.
- Applying without proof of property/tenancy.
- Paying “connection charges” in cash to a lineman instead of the official demand notice at a bank.
