Service Overview

Most NADRA problems can be resolved without standing in a queue — if you contact the right channel with the right information. This guide explains the ways to reach NADRA, which channel suits which problem, what to have ready before you make contact, and how to escalate a complaint that is not being resolved.

Ways to Contact NADRA

Channel Best used for
Telephone helpline Checking application status, confirming requirements and fees, general queries.
Email Complaints that need a written record, or where you must attach scanned documents.
Official website Tracking applications, downloading forms, checking service requirements and centre locations.
Official social media Announcements and general queries. Never share your CNIC picture or personal details publicly.
Registration Centre in person Anything involving biometrics, family records, or a case that is stuck at verification.
Some things can only be done in personBiometric capture, family tree corrections and identity verification require you to attend a Registration Centre. No helpline can complete these over the phone, so do not lose time trying.

Before You Make Contact

Having these ready turns a long call into a short one:

  • Your CNIC number
  • The tracking / token ID from your receipt, if you have an application in process
  • The date you applied and the centre where you applied
  • A short, factual description of the problem
  • Any earlier complaint number, if you are following up

Which Channel for Which Problem

Application stuck at verification

Start with the helpline to find out what is pending. If the answer is vague or nothing changes, go to the Registration Centre where you applied — they can see the case notes directly.

Wrong details printed on your card

This needs a correction request at a Registration Centre with supporting documents. Call first to confirm exactly which document proves the correct detail.

Card not delivered

Check the status first. If it shows dispatched but has not arrived after a reasonable period, contact the helpline with your tracking ID and delivery address.

Overcharging or staff behaviour

Complain in writing by email so there is a record, and include the centre name, date, time and counter number if you have it.

Suspected fraud using your identity

Treat this as urgent. Contact NADRA immediately and, where money or accounts are involved, also report it to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing.

How to Write an Effective Complaint

  1. State your CNIC and tracking ID in the first line.
  2. Give the facts in order: what you applied for, when, at which centre.
  3. Describe the problem in one or two sentences, without emotion or accusation.
  4. Say clearly what you want — a correction, a status update, a refund.
  5. Attach scanned copies of the receipt and any relevant document.
  6. Note the complaint number you receive and use it in every follow-up.
Keep a record of everythingNote the date, time and name of anyone you speak to, and save every reference number. If you need to escalate later, this record is what moves your case forward.
Protect yourself from impersonation scamsNADRA does not call to ask for your OTP, bank details or a payment over WhatsApp or Easypaisa. If a caller claims your CNIC will be blocked unless you pay or share a code, it is a scam. Hang up and call the official helpline yourself using the number on the official website.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to reach NADRA?
The telephone helpline for status and general queries. For anything involving biometrics or family records, a Registration Centre visit is faster overall.
Is the helpline free?
Standard call charges from your operator may apply, but NADRA does not charge a fee for support.
Can I complain online?
Yes. Email creates a written record and lets you attach documents, which is useful for anything that may need escalation.
How long does a complaint take?
Simple queries are often answered on the call. Cases needing verification take longer, so follow up with your complaint number.
Can someone else call on my behalf?
They can ask general questions, but details about your specific application are normally shared only with the applicant for privacy reasons.
What if my complaint is ignored?
Follow up in writing with your complaint number, then raise it at the Registration Centre in person and ask for the matter to be escalated to a supervisor.

In Short

Choose the channel that matches your problem, keep your CNIC and tracking ID at hand, put anything serious in writing, and record every reference number. And remember that no genuine NADRA representative will ever ask you for an OTP or a payment over the phone.

What this means for you

If an application is delayed, a record looks wrong, or you suspect fraud on your identity, NADRA’s official help and complaint channels are the right place to get it resolved — not a private agent. Using the official channel keeps your data safe and gives you a trackable complaint.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Calling numbers from unofficial sources that impersonate NADRA.
  • Sharing your CNIC PIN, password or OTP with a “helpline” — NADRA never asks for these.
  • Paying an agent to “fix” something the official complaint process handles free.

How to verify you are on the official channel

Use only the official contact and complaint details published on nadra.gov.pk/contact-us. Genuine NADRA staff never demand payment by phone.

Official source: NADRA — nadra.gov.pk  |  id.nadra.gov.pk / PakID app
