What this means for you

The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is an official NADRA document that lists and verifies your registered family members as recorded in the national database. It is commonly required for spouse and family visa applications, sponsoring relatives abroad, and proving a family relationship. You can usually request it online with your CNIC and registered mobile number.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting unregistered relatives to appear. Only members registered with NADRA (with a 13-digit ID — CNIC, NICOP, POC or B-Form) show on the FRC.
  • Choosing the wrong type. Pick the correct FRC — birth-family, married, or combined — for your purpose.
  • Using an unregistered mobile number. Online applications rely on the mobile number registered against your CNIC for OTP.

How to make sure you are on the official channel

Apply only through NADRA — id.nadra.gov.pk, the PakID app, or a NADRA Registration Centre. NADRA never asks for your password or OTP by phone.
