A domicile certificate is official proof of your permanent residence in a particular district and province. It is required for government jobs, educational admissions and provincial / regional quotas, and is issued by the District (Deputy Commissioner) office.

A domicile certificate is issued by your District (Deputy Commissioner) office. Online facility varies by province:
- Punjab: domicile.punjab.gov.pk (online)
- Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan & ICT: Apply at your local District / Deputy Commissioner (DC) office — most regions do not yet offer a public online domicile portal.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Details not matching your CNIC. This is the single most common cause of rejection — match every detail to your CNIC.
- Applying in the wrong district. You belong to only one district; apply where you genuinely reside/belong.
- Leaving it to the last minute. Verification takes time — apply well before any job deadline.
- Overpaying an agent. The official fee is modest; you do not need a middleman.
