Police Character Certificate (PCC)
A Police Character Certificate (also called a Police Clearance Certificate) is issued by the police to confirm you have no criminal record. It is commonly required for visas, immigration, foreign employment and residency.

- Work and employment visas abroad
- Immigration and residency applications
- Foreign education and certain legal matters
Good to Know
- For use abroad, a PCC usually needs MOFA attestation (and sometimes embassy attestation).
- It should carry a QR code and is typically valid for about 180 days.
- Background verification is part of the process.
Apply by Province
A Police Character Certificate is issued by each province’s police. Use your province’s official portal or facilitation centre:
- Punjab: pkm.punjab.gov.pk (Police Khidmat Markaz)
- Sindh: prvs.sindhpolice.gov.pk (Police Record Verification System)
- Islamabad (ICT): islamabadpolice.gov.pk
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: kppolice.gov.pk (Police Sahulat Markaz)
- Balochistan: Apply in person at your nearest Police Station / Khidmat Markaz

How to Apply — Step by Step
Apply through your provincial police system u2014 many provinces offer online PCC (e.g., Punjab Police, Islamabad CPO) or apply at the district police office.
Submit your CNIC, photographs and fingerprints, and pay the fee.
The police carry out background verification.
Collect your PCC (with QR code).
For use abroad, get it attested by MOFA (and the relevant embassy if required).
