Service Overview
When You Need a Duplicate
A duplicate CNIC reissues your existing card when the original is lost, stolen, damaged or no longer readable. It is the same card with the same number u2014 only a fresh copy is printed, with no change to your data.
Situations It Covers
- A lost or misplaced card
- A stolen card
- A card damaged by water, heat or wear
- A card whose chip or print has become unreadable
Good to Know
- Your CNIC number and details stay exactly the same.
- For a lost or stolen card, report it to the police first.
- To change any detail, use CNIC Modification instead of a duplicate.
Eligibility Criteria
Existing CNIC holder whose card is lost, stolen, damaged or unreadable.
The applicant's record must already exist in NADRA's database.
Required Documents
Police report (FIR) if the card was lost or stolen (recommended; may be required)
Any available copy of the old CNIC or your 13-digit CNIC number
Supporting identity document for biometric matching

How to Apply — Step by Step

If the card was lost or stolen, report it to the police and obtain a report (FIR); note your CNIC number.

Visit the NRC or apply via Pak-ID for a duplicate / reprint.

Submit the duplicate request form and complete biometric verification.

Pay the duplicate fee for your chosen service type.

Track via SMS to 8400 or www.nadra.gov.pk and collect your re-issued card.
