A lost or stolen passport can be misused, so reporting it promptly and applying for a replacement protects your identity and restores your travel document. A lost or damaged passport cannot be renewed online u2014 it requires a visit to a passport office.

Steps That Matter

  • Report the loss or theft to the police and obtain a report (FIR)
  • Visit a Regional Passport Office or, abroad, a Pakistani mission
  • Apply for a fresh passport (not a simple renewal)

  • A police report is required and attached to the application.
  • The DGIP may verify your identity through NADRA.
  • The previous passport is cancelled when a new one is issued.

How to Apply — Step by Step

Report the loss or theft to the police and obtain a copy of the report (FIR).

Visit your nearest Regional Passport Office (or a Pakistani mission abroad) u2014 a lost / damaged passport cannot be renewed online.

Submit the FIR, CNIC and photograph, and apply for a fresh passport.

Complete biometric verification; DGIP may verify your identity through NADRA.

Pay the fee and collect or receive the new passport; the old one is cancelled.
