About This Scheme
The Benazir Kafalat Program is Pakistan's largest social protection initiative, providing unconditional quarterly cash transfers of PKR 10,500 to the most vulnerable low-income women across all provinces. Managed by the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), this scheme ensures financial dignity and empowerment for millions of Pakistani families living below the poverty line. Eligibility is determined through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) using a Proxy Means Test (PMT) that scores household poverty levels based on assets, income, education, and living conditions. The program is part of Pakistan's broader social safety net and complements other Ehsaas and BISP initiatives including Nashonuma, Taleemi Wazaif, and Sehat Sahulat.
